County Representative Boys
were Ethan Brookes 3-45 off 9 overs and Kieran Holland 2-31
off 9 overs. Huge thanks to Mo Sheikh and Paul Greetham for
leading the team for this game.
v Herefordshire at Bablake School
Herefordshire 59
Warwickshire 60 for 3
A fantastic effort by all allowed us to reduce Herts to a low
score, Key performances by Kieran Holland with 4 wickets
and great in -swing support from Sahal Malvernkar assisted
by exceptional catching by Abdullah Mughal. As always
chasing a low score provided a challenge to focus and
deliver. Overall a good team performance.
v Worcestershire at Barnt Green CC
Warwickshire 227-8 in 45 overs
Worcestershire 126 in 32 overs
Some outstanding batting a century from Jacques Banton
provided a solid base for the team to post a target that could
be defended. Tight bowling from Daniel Mousley and four
wickets from Ethan Brookes allowed us to win comfortably.
v Shropshire Broseley CC
Shropshire 225- 6 in 45 overs
Warwickshire 226-3
An exceptional spell from Sahal Malvernkar 9 overs for 18
runs, kept Shropshire to a total of 225. A 172 run partnership
between Ethan Brookes and Jeevan Barhey set up the chase.
v Oxfordshire at Oxford and Bletchingdon CC
Warwickshire 265-7 in 45 overs
Oxfordshire 126 in 34 overs
A great batting display on a spinning wicket. A
tremendous knock of 94 from Sahal Malvernkar was one of
the contributors from the top four. A brilliant bowling and
fielding display with a Jacques Banton hat trick to finish the
game that included great catches from Peter Shackleford
and Ethan Brookes.
v Bedfordshire at Edgbaston Foundation Ground
Bedfordshire 181 37.4 overs
Warwickshire 182-2 29.2 overs
Played on a great batting wicket at the new Edgbaston
Foundation Ground, a good performance restricted Beds
to 181 runs. Two wickets each for Sahal Malvernkar, Daniel
Mousley and Seth Westley. After a shaky start, a significant
partnership between Jacques Banton who posted his second
century and Ethan Brookes saw the team home.
v Staffordshire at Attock CC
Warwickshire 137 44.3 Overs
Staffordshire 138 for 1 38.5 Overs
A total of 137 did not reflect what was needed for this
final game of the season, Hasnain Mahmood’s 46 was the
centerpiece of this batting display. Jay Martin getting the
only wicket. The win for Staffs proved to be the decider for
the league and secured them as ECB U14 County Group
2 Champions with Warwickshire finishing in the runners up
position.
v Yorkshire at Denby Dale CC
Warwickshire 227-9 in 45 overs
Yorkshire 224 in 44.5 overs
A massive win against the odds really considering we lost
3 men during the game through illness or injury. We stepped
up and held our nerve at the end to just squeeze home.
v England U19 Women at Loughborough
Warwickshire 259-7 in 50 overs
England U19 Women 136 in 28.2 overs
Another good win, Abdullah Mughal provided a quick
fire 40 from 24 balls which turned a 220 into 259. We took
6 wickets in the first 17 overs and the remaining 4 in just
under 12 overs which was good. Brilliant catches by Peter
Shackelford and a very smart slip catch by Jacques Banton
were key in the defence of 259.
