28 June v Lincolnshire at Sabraon Barracks
Warwickshire 169/9
Lincolnshire 71
Won
by 98 runs
Captain Tom Watkins won the toss and batting first we
made 169 from our 40 overs. Imaad Mahmood top scored
with 43 with further contributions from Ben Fitzgerald 31
and Amaan Akhtar 34*. Lincolnshire never threatened
as spinner Ajay Shingadia 3-7 and left arm medium Ben
Fitzgerald 3-9 did the damage. A convincing win to start the
season.
16 July v Lancashire at Aston Manor CC
Warwickshire 92
Lancashire 93/1
Lost
by 9 wickets
Batting first on a fine day we did not make the most of a
good pitch posting a disappointing 92 all out. Lancashire’s
bowling and fielding was exceptional for this age group and
set an example for our boys to strive for. Lancs batting was
equally impressive and a 79 run opening partnership settled
the outcome in their favour.

Warwicks 140 for 6 Aman Hussain 40*. Jamie Parnell 34

A lovely sunny day and a beautiful setting in a country
park. However the pitch did not match the surroundings
and our batsmen failed to adapt apart from Armaan Akhtar
who’s 37* was crucial. The Gloucestershire team were
equally inexperienced in such conditions and collapsed to
our pace bowlers Vidhan Iyer 4-6 and Tom Watkins 3-10.
10 August v Cheshire at Edgbaston Foundation
Ground
Warwickshire 185/9
Cheshire 176
Won
by 9 runs
Our first visit to the new Foundation Ground and a very
close contest between two well matched teams. Batting first
we made our season’s best score with Adnaan Riaz 56 and
Arman Dubb 46 starring with the bat. The game finally turned
with 3 wickets in the 38th over bowled by Ben Fitzgerald 3-28
including a very smart run out by keeper Eddie King.
