On a windy sunny day Yorkshire were put in to bat and
assisted by some wayward bowling and poor fielding from
Warwickshire, were allowed to rattle up a total over 300.
When it came to Warwickshire’s turn to bat, their bad day
continued, losing two early wickets and then failing to find
anyone able to stay at the crease, as Yorkshire inflicted a
second defeat of the season.
v Derbyshire Away
Derbyshire 181-6
Warwickshire 182-4
Won
by 6 wickets
On to the final game, Warwickshire travelled to the
Derbyshire Dales at Denby and on a wet wicket, Warwickshire
bowled first and restricted Derbyshire to 181-6 with some
tight bowling.
As the wicket dried out, it made it easier for batting and
Warwickshire reached their target with 3 overs to spare to
bring a winning end to the season.

v North East Wales at Home
Warwickshire 297-8
North East Wales 99
Won
by 198 runs
Against a weak side and batting first some Solid
batting saw Warwickshire total 297 in 50 overs with good
contributions by Robert Hutchings 55. Cameron Rice 41 and
Shaid Arif 39.
Facing an uphill task North East Wales lost wickets at
regular intervals with the pick of the bowlers Jack Birch 4/18
so a comfortable start to the season.
v Yorkshire Away
Warwickshire 216
Yorkshire 177
Won
by 39 runs
On sunny windy day in South Yorkshire, Warwickshire
batted first and despite solid contributions from all the
batsmen only Arwand Barnard 56, made a half century.
Having Yorkshire 8 for 3, wickets fell regularly and despite
a late order rally, what had looked a comfortable win became
a close affair.
v Lancashire Away
Warwickshire 230-8
Lancashire 231-6
Lost
by 4 wickets
Due to a severe accident on the M6 Warwickshire only
had 6 players available at the start and with their pre match
preparation affected Warwickshire were forced to bat first and
slumped to 48 for 6 before recovering largely due to a big
hitting hundred 118* from Oliver Lawrence, which included
one huge six through the umpire’s rear windscreen.
A game that Warwickshire were always up against it,
ended in their first defeat of the season.
v Lancashire at Home
Lancashire 251
Warwickshire 253-9
Won
by 1 wicket
In the return fixture against Lancashire on a sunny day in
Birmingham, on a good batting track, Lancashire chose to
bat and with two good spells from opening bowler
Bradley Gledhill 4-32 Warwickshire restricted Lancashire to
251 all out.
When it came to their turn, some consistent batting seem
to have the game won, but then a collapse preceded
Oliver Lawrence who hit a breezy 61 including 2 huge sixes,
one of which cleared the pavilion and tense finish, led to a
single wicket win with eight balls to spare.
v Yorkshire at Home
Yorkshire 317 for 7
Warwickshire 126
Lost
by 191 runs
