Batting first Warwickshire were 135-4 at the end of their
twenty overs, with Jonathan Webb 35 and Tom Lewis 28 top
scoring.
In reply David Willey, ahead of a potential ODI debut
next week got some useful practice with a brisk sixty
six while Kyle Coetzer made an unbeaten thirty five, as
Northamptonshire reached 138-3 from just 13.1 overs to
complete a comfortable seven wicket victory. Richard Jones
took 2-31 for Warwickshire.
Match 2 Warwickshire 107-2 (17.4 overs) 2 points beat
Northamptonshire 103-7 (20 overs) 0 points by 8 wickets
Winning the toss in the second match, Warwickshire put
Northamptonshire into bat and restricted them to 103-7 from
their twenty overs with Cobb top-scoring with 33 from 42
balls and Aaron West 25* before Warwickshire completed
their victory on 107-2 from 17.4 overs, with Coleman 31 and
Ateeq Javid 25* top scoring.
DURHAM 2nd XI v WARWICKSHIRE 2nd XI at
Newcastle, 18th May 2015
Match 1 Durham 113-3 (12.4 overs) 2 points beat
Warwickshire 102-4 (15 overs) 0 points by 7 wickets D/L
Losing the toss and being invited to bat, Warwickshire
never looked like making a challenging total on a rain
effected morning, Tom Lewis 33 and Freddie Coleman
26 top scored in an inadequate total of 102-4 from fifteen
overs.
In reply, Durham raced to a D/L adjusted target of
108, closing on 113-3 with Clarke making an impressive
unbeaten eighty five.
Match 2 Durham 156-4 (19.3 overs) beat Warwickshire
152-7 (20 overs) 0 points by 6 wickets
Once again, Warwickshire were invited to bat and with
Andrew Umeed making thirty one, they posted a total of
152-7 from their twenty overs.
In reply Gordon Muchall’s unbeaten sixty two helped the
home side record a second victory of the day, as Durham
reached their target with three balls to spare on 156-4.
WARWICKSHIRE 2nd XI v LANCASHIRE 2nd XI at
Walmley, 28th May 2015
Match 1 Lancashire 181-5 (20 overs) 2 points beat
Warwickshire 176-5 (20 overs) 0 points by 7 runs
Warwickshire won the toss and fielded and found
Livingstone 52 and Hameed 34 in good touch before
England Under19 batsmen Jones added an unbeaten thirty
seven aided by some big hitting from Dearden 24 at the end
of the Lancashire innings, lifting them to a challenging 183-5
from their twenty overs.
In reply Porterfield and Webb were dismissed cheaply
but Lewis 44 and Coleman added forty three for the third
wicket before Thomason joined Coleman and their fourth
wicket partnership of ninety four took Warwickshire within
thirteen runs of victory with seven balls remaining when
Coleman 66 was caught off Mahmood.
Buck bowled Thomason 38 with the first ball of the
final over but new batsmen Milnes and McKay could only
manage to score five runs from the remainder, leaving
Lancashire victors by seven runs.
Match 2 Warwickshire 90 (15.4 overs) 0 points lost to
Lancashire 94-2 (9.4 overs) 2 points by 8 wickets
Winning the toss again Warwickshire chose to bat, but
after losing Webb and Lewis early in the innings, they never
recovered momentum and despite Evans’ twenty one, they
were dismissed in just 15.4 overs for ninety. Livingstone
3-19 was the most successful Lancashire bowler.
The visitors made easy work of chasing down their
target, completing a facile victory in less than ten overs to
virtually assure themselves of qualification to the next round
of the competition.
NOTTINGHAMSHIRE 2nd XI v WARWICKSHIRE 2nd XI
at Trent College, Nottingham 4th June 2015
Match 1 Warwickshire 140-5 (20 overs) 2 points beat
Nottinghamshire 96 (17.2 overs) 0 points by 44 runs
Nottinghamshire won the toss and fielded and were
rewarded with a wicket in the second over when Lewis 11
fell to Fletcher before Lambert made sixteen from seventeen
deliveries, while Mellor twenty three, was bowled by Tilcock.
Amidst this Thomason made an unbeaten half century
from just thirty four balls including three sixes and Milnes
twenty two as Warwickshire posted 140-5 from their twenty
overs.
In reply, no Nottinghamshire batsman made a score and
as wickets fell early in the innings, the Warwickshire total
looked unreachable as the home side struggled on 62-6 in
the thirteenth over.
Poysden 3-11 and Gordon 3-14 led the way while
Milnes, Adair, Brookes and Singh each took a wicket,
as Nottinghamshire were dismissed for ninety six in the
eighteenth over.
Match 2 Nottinghamshire 124-8 (20 overs) 0 points lost
to Warwickshire 128-1 (13.4 overs) 2 points by 9 wickets
In the second match, Warwickshire won the toss and
fielded and as in the first match took six quick wickets with
Lewis and Coleman seize the initative
