before bad light and rain stopped play, with a total of 25 overs
being lost in the day.

Lewis 58, completing a half-century.
Chad Barrett 4-40 and fellow trialist Tom Sole 3-42 led the
way for Northamptonshire who held a twenty five run first
innings lead.
Hoping to extend that lead in the closing overs of the day
Northamptonshire instead were undone by a devastating four-
wicket burst from Richard Jones leaving the visitors 66-6 at the
close - just 94 runs in front with a day to go.
Play was held up for half an hour on the final day before
David Murphy 40 once again top scored for Northamptonshire

Jones 4-44 and trialist Ben Brooks 3-39 being the pick of the
Warwickshire attack.
Needing 162 for victory, Umeed 40 and Ateeq Javid 26
compiled fifty nine for the opening wicket but then three
wickets for twenty runs brought a check, with Freddie Coleman
going for a duck.
Tom Lewis 55 led the charge as Warwickshire achieved their
target reaching 168-5 from 48.1 overs to complete a five wicket
victory with overs to spare.
Both sides were penalised one and a half points for being

an unbeaten partnership of seventy between McKay 68* and
Gordon 35* helped the total to 425-8 from ninety seven overs
before the declaration.
In Durham’s second innings Milnes dismissed Clark with
the fourth ball of the innings before stumps and after more
rain delays, Poysden 4-16 and Milnes 3-73 helped dismiss the
home side on the final morning for 198 with the last six wickets
tumbling for just fifty seven.
There was time for a minimum of 22 overs before the close
of play for Warwickshire to make the 124 needed for victory,
but wickets fell quickly, with top four batsmen all falling for
single figures, before Jonathan Webb 44* and Tom Milnes 44
took Warwickshire within six runs of victory which was achieved
