Milestones for the 2015 Season
The 4 centuries in an innings for Sussex at Edgbaston equalled
the record against Warwickshire by any county in first-class cricket.
It was the fifth occasion this had occurred.
The seven lbw dismissals in Warwickshire’s first innings against
Durham at Chester-le-Street was the highest number in an innings
incurred by Warwickshire in their Championship history.
When Somerset lost all 10 first innings wickets to outfield
catches at Edgbaston in July, it was only the third time in
Warwickshire’s history that they had achieved this feat, without
the help of any wicket-keeper’s catches. The other two occasions
were against Surrey at the Oval in 1968 and against Lancashire at
Liverpool in 2011.
The 320-5 scored by Essex at Chelmsford in the Royal London
Cup, was their highest ever total in limited overs cricket against
Warwickshire.
Against Derbyshire at Edgbaston in the NatWest t20 Blast a
number of records were broken:
Birmingham Bears 242-2, was their highest total in the
competition, beating the previous best of 205-2 v Northamptonshire
at Edgbaston in 2005.
The same match also brought a new highest aggregate match
total, with 424 runs, beating the previous record of 415 v Durham at
Edgbaston in 2010.
There were more runs scored by boundaries in an innings than
any other match played by the Bears 166 (22-4s & 13-6s). The old
record was 130 (22-4s & 7-6s) v Glamorgan at Swansea 2005
This score was also the fastest 100 in 42 Balls and the fastest
150 in 60 Balls.
B McCullum’s 158* was a new record highest individual score
in the competition and also the first century for the Bears, beating
the previous highest individual score of 90 by I Bell made against
Durham at Chester-le-Street, also in 2015.
B McCullum’s innings contained a record number of individual
sixes with 11 beating the previous record of 6 in an innings by
D Maddy against Northamptonshire at Edgbaston in 2010.
It was also the match in which the team recorded a record
number of sixes in an innings with 13 beating the previous record of
10 against Worcestershire at Edgbaston in 2006.
Individual records during the 2015 season included:

T Ambrose passed 7,500 first-class runs in the match against
Hampshire at Edgbaston in April and in the same match, J Patel
completed 4,000 career first-class runs.
W Rankin’s 6-75 in Hampshire’s first innings was a career best
after having taken his 250th first-class wicket when J Vince became
his second victim in Hampshire’s first innings.
In the second match of the season against Yorkshire at
Headingley, I Westwood’s 196 was his highest score in first-class
cricket, beating his previous best of 176 in the County
Championship and his 178 in all first-class cricket, and in the
course of that innings, completed 6,000 first-class runs in his
County Championship career.
R. Clarke passed 8,500 first-class runs during the match, while
W. Rankin followed up his career best in the previous match against
Hampshire with a return of 6-56 in Yorkshire’s first innings.
Against Worcestershire at Edgbaston in early May, during
Warwickshire’s first innings, L Evans completed 2,000 first-class
career runs while S Hain completed his first 1,000. In the second
innings, V Chopra passed 8,000 career runs, while J Patel took his
500th first-class wicket in Worcestershire’s second innings.
In the next match against Durham at Edgbaston R Jones, in
what was to be his final match of the season, completed 150 first-
class wickets during Durham’s first innings, while R Clarke took his
250th County Championship wicket in Durham’s second innings.
In the match against Sussex at Hove, I Westwood passed 7,000
first-class career runs, while with the ball, K Barker took his 200th
first-class wicket in Sussex first innings and J Patel his 200th County
Championship wicket in the same innings.
R Clarke reached 300 first-class wickets during Sussex second
innings.
During the Middlesex match at Lord’s J Webb made his first-
class debut.
In Warwickshire’s victory against Worcestershire at Worcester,
R Clarke completed 8,000 County Championship runs, while
C Wright took his 300th first-class wicket and K Barker his 200th
County Championship wicket during the match.
In the high scoring draw at Edgbaston against Sussex, L Evans
213* was his highest first-class score while J Poysden made his
County Championship debut for Warwickshire.
W. Rankin completed 500 first-class runs during the match at
Edgbaston against Yorkshire in July. While in the following match
against Durham at Chester-le-Street, L Evans completed 2,500
first-class runs and T Milnes 3-96 was his best return in County
Championship cricket. When C Woakes dismissed C Rushworth in
Durham’s second innings, he took his 350th first-class wicket.
K Barker completed 2,000 first-class runs against Somerset
at Edgbaston in July and completed the same feat in County
Championship matches against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge
in August, while W Rankin took his 250th County Championship
wicket in Nottinghamshire’s first innings.
T Ambrose completed 9,000 first-class runs against Middlesex
at Edgbaston in September and 8,000 runs in the County
Championship in the next match against Nottinghamshire at
Edgbaston, in which match J Patel took his 50th wicket of the
season in the County Championship.
V Chopra passed 7,000 County Championship runs in the final
match of the season against Somerset at Taunton, while
I Bell completed 17,500 first-class runs and J Patel 4,500 first-class
runs in Warwickshire’s second innings. During Somerset’s second
innings, J Patel completed his best innings analysis in first-class
cricket, 7-38, beating his previous best of 7-75.
ROYAL LONDON CUP
J. Webb made his debut in List A matches against
Nottinghamshire at Nettleworth in July while K Barker completed 50
List A wickets during the match against Lancashire at Old Trafford
in August.
O Hannon-Dalby’s 5-27 against Glamorgan at Edgbaston was
his first five wicket return in List A cricket and a career best.
Against Hampshire at Edgbaston, V Chopra completed 3,500
List A runs, while Ateeq Javid completed 500 List A runs during the
match against Sussex at Rugby School.
NATWEST t20 BLAST
Against Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge T Lewis made his
debut, while in the following match against Worcestershire at
Edgbaston, V Chopra completed 1,500 career t20 runs.
In the same match, R Gordon’s 3-18 equalled his previous best
bowling return.
I Bell’s 90 against Durham at Chester-le-Street was his highest
individual score and a new record for the Bears, beating N Knight’s
89 set in 2003 and his own previous best of 85 v Durham in 2010.
During his innings he completed 1,000 t20 career runs.
O Hannon-Dalby’s 4-29 against Nottinghamshire at Edgbaston
was his best t20 return, while W Porterfield completed 3,000 t20
career runs against Yorkshire at Edgbaston.
B McCullum made his t20 debut for the Bears against
Lancashire at Old Trafford in June, while R Gordon’s 4-20 in the
same match was a new personal best in the competition.
B McCullum’s unbeaten 158 against Derbyshire at Edgbaston in
July was the first individual century by a Bears’ player in t20 cricket
and equalled McCullum’s own personal highest score in t20 cricket.
In the same match J Poysden’s 4-51 was his best return in t20
cricket.
At Grace Rd against Leicestershire, T Ambrose completed
1,000 t20 career runs while in the quarter-final tie against Essex at
Edgbaston, W Rankin completed 50 t20 wickets.
Ateeq Javid’s 51* against Northamptonshire in the t20 Semi-
Final at Edgbaston in August, was his highest score in t20 cricket
and his first half-century.
