Introducing Neil Snowball CEO
I am delighted to have been appointed as Warwickshire’s
new Chief Executive, joining a Club with not only a proud and
successful history but with a clear ambition for the future. The
strength of the playing squad as evidenced by performances
over the last five years and the world class facilities at
Edgbaston offer enormous opportunity in the years ahead.
For the last three years I have been Chief Operating Officer
of England Rugby 2015 Ltd, the Organising Committee for the
highly successful and record breaking Rugby World Cup 2015.
Prior to that I was Head of Sport Operations at the London
Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic
Games (LOCOG) where I was responsible for service delivery
and operational management for the 26 Olympic and 20
Paralympic sports, as well as the 45 competition venues.
Before joining LOCOG, I was an Executive Director at
Goldman Sachs for eight years.
I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity work
on major global sporting events such as the Olympic and
Paralympic Games and the Rugby World Cup, but cricket
is right at the heart of my sporting passion, so to have the
opportunity to be involved with Warwickshire and Edgbaston
Stadium is a real privilege.
Originally from Cumbria, I am a lifelong cricket supporter,
and have been involved with Guildford Cricket Club for many
years, as a player, coach and administrator, including three
Neil Snowball - Chief Executive
years as Chairman of the Club and of the Guildford Cricket
Festival. I’ve also has a long association with Surrey County
Cricket Club and in 2012 was invited to be a member of the
Surrey CCC Business Advisory Group, and also served on the
Surrey Championship committee. So as you can imagine, I
was particularly pleased when I saw the 2016 fixture list which
pitches Warwickshire v Surrey at Guildford in early July.
I’m looking forward to being able to contribute to the future
success of this great club and from what I have seen already
there is clearly a great bunch of people here at Edgbaston and
I will be building on what has been developed here over the
last ten years under Colin’s leadership – there are still many
challenges and also many new opportunities ahead of us.
I am looking forward with great anticipation to the new
season and look forward to meeting our many members and
Bears supporters over the course of the year.
